Second Assistant/Spray Technician
The Hamilton Golf and Country Club dates back to 1894 and has been at its current location in Ancaster, Ontario since 1914. The course was designed and built by Harry S. Colt of England and has hosted many prestigious tournaments including the Canadian and Ontario Amateur Championships, the Senior PGA, and numerous Canadian Opens. In June 2019, Hamilton hosted one of the most successful RBC Canadian Opens in modern history. The Canadian Open is scheduled to return to Hamilton in June of 2024. The Club has just completed its Golf Course Improvement Plan, the largest infrastructure project in the Club’s history, which saw the rebuilding of greens to modern USGA specification, new bunkers built with Better Billy Bunker liners, and the installation of a new irrigation system on all 27 championship holes. Hamilton Golf & Country Club is nationally and internationally ranked.
Position Overview
Hamilton Golf & Country Club is accepting resumes for the position of Second Assistant/Spray Technician. The Second Assistant/Spray Technician will work closely with the Course and Grounds senior leadership team and will be exposed to all aspects of the Course and Grounds operation. This is an hourly, year-round position with a competitive compensation package.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills with a desire to learn, grow and challenge the status quo
- Graduate of a Plant Science or Turfgrass Management Program
- Possess or have the ability to obtain an Ontario Exterminator’s license
- Ability to work flexible hours, especially early mornings or evenings
- Highly flexible, open-minded, and driven with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a team environment
