Responsibilities

Turf Management:

Assist in planning and executing turf management daily maintenance operations including but not limited to cutting greens, pin placements and all other facets of daily course setup.
Supervise and participate in the application of fertilizers, pesticides, and other turf care products.
Monitor and manage Rainbird irrigation systems to maintain proper turf hydration.

Crew Management:

Provide leadership and direction to maintenance staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Collaborate with the Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent to schedule and coordinate daily work assignments.
Train and mentor team members on best practices and safety procedures keeping Health and Safety in mind.

Equipment Maintenance:

Work with the equipment manager to ensure the fleet is in optimal condition.

Project Management:

Assist in the planning and execution of special projects, including course renovations, landscaping enhancements, and drainage improvements.
Monitor project timelines and quality to ensure successful completion.

Communication:

Maintain open and effective communication with the Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent.
Collaborate with the turf department team to address member concerns and feedback.

Budget Oversight:

Assist in budget development and management, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
Monitor expenses related to course maintenance and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications:

Post Secondary Turfgrass Management or related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in golf course maintenance, with a focus on turf management.
Knowledge of turfgrass, irrigation systems, and pest control.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to operate and maintain golf course maintenance equipment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have or obtain Pesticide and IPM certification.
