Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

ASSISTANT GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT

Rideau View Golf Club is an 18 hole private golf club situated in Manotick, Ontario. Designed by C.E Robbie Robinson and Howard Watson on a beautiful 200-acre property and continues to be one of Ottawa’s premiere private Golf Club’s. Rideau View Golf Club has recently completed a renovation of our practice facility in 2021, as well as a complete bunker renovation to Better Billy Bunker in 2023.

Rideau View Golf Club is seeking a dedicated, detail oriented and hardworking individual to join our team. This is a full-time, year round position. The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and is an integral part of the management team at the golf club.

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

Assist in the recruiting and hiring of all seasonal staff.
Performing fertilizer and pesticide applications, calibrations of related equipment and maintaining related records.
Assist the Golf Course Superintendent in the planning and implementation of all maintenance schedules.
Supervise all staff on scheduled tasks and follow up on completion of said tasks at the end of each day.
Irrigation System repair, maintenance and management.
Oversee department health and safety protocols and assuring all staff are trained on all equipment operation and safety procedures.

Qualifications:

3+ years experience working in golf course maintenance.
Graduate of a recognized turfgrass management program.
Must be detail oriented, with the ability to excel in a private club setting.
Valid drivers license
Valid Ontario Landscape Exterminator license.
Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
Proficiency in computer use, knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and other applications.
