Bay of Quinte Golf and Country Club is adjacent to the beautiful Bay of Quinte, just 2 minutes west of Belleville, Ontario. The original golf course was designed by SR Gray/Robbie Robinson, and recently was purchased by a new owner. The Club has added 9 spectacular new holes and is in the process of adding another 9 to become a 36 hole resort. We are looking for a highly motivated,experienced,results orientated and dedicated Golf Course Superintendent to lead our Turf Management Department. this is a year round, salaried position reporting to the Property manager and/or General Manager. As Senior Management, the successful candidate will work closely with other Club Managers. The successful candidates roll will continue to evolve as the operation grows.
Responsibilities

Oversee day to day scheduling of maintenance operation.

Oversee completion of work assignments and follow ups.

Oversee fertilizer/pcp applications including calibrations and documentation.

Proper employee training techniques and keeping a safe workplace.

Oversee Health and Safety Committee

Assist in grow in of new holes as they are completed

Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays.

Capacity to schedule irrigation, daily scheduling and installations

Maintain a safe a work environment, and train staff to work in a safe manner

Manage IPM scouting and data submission and report in a timely fashion

Must maintain and possess a current MOE Pesticide License and IPM Agent certification

Manage turfgrass health throughout the property

Develope a chemical and fertility program for the property

Oversee proper maintenance of equipment, assuring safety standards of all equipment is maintained

Work closely with General Manager and Property Manager to operate the facility in a fiscal and proper manner
Qualifications
-
IPM Agent (or capacity to obtain within 120 days of employment)
-
Ontario Landscape Exterminators License
-
Valid driver's license
-
Minimum of 5 years turf grass related experience at a golf course facility

Degree or Diploma in Turfgrass Management.

Experience with Toro irrigation systems as well as capability to troubleshoot and resolve irrigation issues.

Proficient computer use.

Chainsaw License

Self Motivated, Detailed, Organized, Excellent Communicator and Leads by Example.

Understanding of budgets, responsible operational spending and proper inventory controls

Proficient in recruiting, supervising, and motivating personnel

Attention to detail and housekeeping
