Second Assistant Superintendent

The London Hunt and Country Club is accepting applications to join our Senior Grounds Management Team as a Second Assistant Superintendent

This year-round position will present the opportunity to:

  • Aspire, grow, develop, teach, lead, learn
  • Work with the Senior Club Management Teams to achieve excellence through initiative, commitment to others and self
  • Assist, educate, train, develop and encourage team members by example to achieve established goals
  • Exposure to leading industry professionals within the OGSA, CGSA, GCSAA, GCBAA, and the ASGCA including Hurdzan Golf
  • Carry out tasks to a high standard in a timely and efficient manner, while ensuring the safe use of equipment
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records as part of the agronomic and IPM programs
  • Implementation of chemical and fertilizer applications along with other cultural practices
  • Water management ranging from hand-watering, programming, service, and repair
  • Global networking within the turfgrass industry while representing the Club as a professional leader
  • Observe with curiosity all things turf...an inquisitive mind leads to lifelong learning

 

Qualifications required:

  • Graduate of a recognized post-secondary turfgrass management program
  • 5+ years experience in the golf course industry with emphasis on proven results and future growth
  • Possess a valid Ontario pesticide licence with IPM agent qualifications an asset
  • Proven leadership and effective communication skills - observation, listening, problem solving, forward thinking
  • Experience with irrigation system control and repair procedures, including troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Sound organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
  • Highly motivated, dependable professional, who thrives in an environment that reflects the highest standards in golf
  • Character, commitment to learning, integrity, and a desire to the climb the mountain

 

Compensation for this full-time leadership position provides a competitive wage, RRSP program, short term housing, education, and a health benefits package; renumeration $60,000-$70,000. It is a great role for an aspiring turfgrass professional looking for a long -term growth opportunity and advancement within the Club.
