The Golf Course:

The Oakville Golf Club is one of the oldest private clubs in the Greater Toronto Area, established in 1921. Nestled along the banks of Sixteen Mile Creek, in the heart of Oakville, the club has a wonderful setting. A strong membership guides the course with a vision set apart from other Toronto clubs. Long range planning is alive and well with a continued future goal of moving the course forward.

Position Overview:

This is an exciting, entry level opportunity for young turf managers to gain experience and hone their skills in all aspects of turf management, employee development, IPM monitoring / spraying, irrigation and construction.

Report directly to the Superintendent, ideal for candidates seeking to advance their careers. Receive hands-on training and mentorship from seasoned professionals.

For Oakville Golf Club, we prioritize your growth and development. As part of this role, you will receive:

Training: In turfgrass management, soil fertility / IPM pest management, irrigation system training and repair, in-house construction projects, tree maintenance
Learning: Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant to develop skills in leadership, staff management and agronomic planning.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in golf course maintenance.
Diploma in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy or related field.
Pesticide / IPM licencing a benefit
Chainsaw licence a benefit
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and passion to grow and learn
