Golf Course Superintendent

Vista Ridge offers a unique and professionally enriching work environment, distinct from the conventional ski hill experience. Located just outside Fort McMurray, Alberta, Vista Ridge started in 1996 as a small ski hill with a T-Bar and a rope tow, but over the years, has transformed into a year-round operation, making Vista Ridge one of the region's most versatile facilities for outdoor recreation. Beyond Skiing, Snowboarding and Tubing, Vista Ridge now includes an Aerial Park, a Mini Putt course and a 12-hole family style Golf Course with an Aqua Range.

Reports To: Director of Operations

Roles & Responsibilities

· Maintain all grounds, including the golf course, lodge surroundings, arial park and aqua range.
· Oversee and assign staff to turf maintenance across the facility.
· Water & Irrigation planning, operation and management
· Supervise the planting of various turf grasses, trees and ornamental plants
· Setup and maintain the Mini Golf area, Aqua Range and 12 Hole Golf Course.
· Maintain all equipment including mowers, tractors, atvs, work cards, hand tools and rental carts with detailed record keeping
· Train and supervise staff in the safe operation of all machinery.
· Create, manage and execute a schedule for groundskeeping including mowing, fertilizing, irrigation and herbicide application.
· Operate and maintain irrigation systems, water wells and pumps.
· Adhere to all regulations and safety codes that have applicable jurisdiction.
· Ensure the outside operations adhere to all Vista Ridge policies and procedures.
· Actively participate in health and safety program.
· Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.

Job Requirements/Qualifications

· Experience in a supervisory or management position.
· 5+ years experience in a golf course environment.
· Knowledge of irrigation systems.
· Valid driver’s license
· Turf Management Diploma an asset
· Valid Alberta pesticide application license an asset.
