Position: 2nd Assistant Superintendent

Overview:

Richmond Hill Golf Club is looking for a self-motivated, career orientated individual to fill the role of 2nd Assistant Superintendent. This position will work and report directly to the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent, and will be involved in all aspects of golf course maintenance practices. The successful candidate should be passionate for the game of golf and the turfgrass industry and possess a desire to learn and advance in the industry.

This is a full time, year round position. We are offering a competitive compensation package based on experience as well as an on-site apartment and body-zone membership at our neighbouring Country Club.

Responsibilities:

Report daily to Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent
Management of seasonal staff members. This includes daily scheduling, training and supervising
Perform irrigation programming, troubleshooting and repairs
Responsible for applications of fertilizer and pesticides
Keep daily records of all cultural practices, fertilizer and pesticide applications
Other general duties as requested by the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent

Qualifications:

Experience in golf turf maintenance (2-3+ years preferably)
Experience with Toro Lynx considered an asset
Diploma in turfgrass management or currently studying
Hold a valid Ontario landscape exterminator's license or working towards obtaining
IPM agent status considered an asset
An understanding of IPM principals and record keeping
A valid Ontario driver’s License (Class G)
