Equipment Manager

Kawartha Golf Club is a semi-private, 18-hole facility located in Peterborough, Ontario. We have just completed our first season in our new maintenance facility, featuring updated staff areas, a dedicated spray room, an improved mechanic workspace, and a separate grinding area.

Responsibilities:

Maintain a preventive maintenance program for all turf equipment within the allocated budget.
Troubleshoot, prioritize, and repair equipment breakdowns efficiently.
Service all cutting units to ensure optimal quality of cut and proper mowing heights daily.
Keep detailed records of service, repairs, parts inventory, and associated costs.
Oversee the upkeep of the repair shop and equipment storage, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
Conduct on-course inspections of equipment.
Involved in the training of employees on preventive maintenance, cleaning procedures, and safe equipment operation.
Communicate effectively with the superintendent to ensure equipment is serviced and ready when needed.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a golf equipment manager or technician.
Knowledge of the theory, care, operation, and repair of electric, gasoline, and diesel machinery.
Strong fabrication skills, including welding and custom part construction.
Experience with reel grinding and precise mower setup and adjustments.
Ability to maintain thorough service records.
Strong attention to detail and ability to keep the shop organized and clean.
Valid Class G driver’s license.
