Assistant Superintendent

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Superintendent to join our team. This role reports directly to the Superintendent and involves close collaboration with senior members of the turf management team. The primary goal of this position is to ensure our members have a consistently high-quality experience each day. This year-round, permanent position is ideal for candidates looking to advance their career in golf course management.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan daily course maintenance activities and assign tasks to staff in consultation with the superintendent.
  • Assist in hiring and training of staff
  • Calibration and application of fertilizers and pesticides
  • IPM record keeping and the annual report submission
  • Assist with water management and scheduling of irrigation
  • Irrigation maintenance and repair (Toro Lynx)
  • Monitor the turf conditions to ensure playability and maintain its health.
  • Lead by example and maintain an inclusive and positive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a post-secondary Turfgrass Management Program.
  • Landscape exterminator License
  • Certified IPM agent or willingness to obtain
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Effective communication and record-keeping skills are essential.
  • Keen eye for detail to ensure all jobs are completed to the highest standards
  • Chainsaw experience and certification are assets.
