Associate Golf Course Superintendent

Historic Weston Golf and Country Club is seeking an experienced, motivated, and dynamic Associate Golf Course Superintendent to join its turf operations leadership team.

This senior-level position reports directly to the General Manager | Golf Course Superintendent and is a key member of the Senior Management Team. Club Overview Established in 1915, Weston Golf and Country Club is home to a passionate membership that values exceptional playing conditions, tradition, and continuous improvement. The golf course was designed by Willie Park Jr., World Golf Hall of Fame member, and is recognized for its classic Golden Age architecture and consistently high standards of conditioning. The club is currently preparing for a membership vote early next year on a comprehensive bunker restoration and new irrigation system, guided by consulting architect Andy Staples and Willie Park Jr.’s original design notes. The successful candidate will be actively involved in the planning, preparation, and execution of these significant capital projects.

Position Summary

The Associate Golf Course Superintendent assists in the overall management and execution of all golf course maintenance operations. This role requires an outgoing, personable, and self-motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values collaboration, professionalism, and work/life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management and execution of all golf course maintenance and operations.
  • Provide leadership, hiring, training, and supervision of turf operations staff.
  • Serve as the club’s Integrated Pest Management Agent Act as Health & Safety Committee Lead, managing training and compliance through Club Core.
  • Prepare and present course updates to the Green Committee.
  • Contribute to budgeting, planning, and execution of capital improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure safe, conscientious completion of all job tasks.
  • Maintain the highest standards of course conditioning, safety, and environmental stewardship.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive golf course maintenance experience.
  • Private club or high-end facility experience preferred.
  • Strong agronomic knowledge with a hands-on leadership approach.
  • IPM certification (or ability to obtain) required.
  • Post-secondary education in turfgrass management.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and reporting skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $110,000 – $130,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Vacation: 3 weeks annually (including 1 week during the summer season).
