Assistant Superintendent

Black Diamond is an 18 hole championship course set in the rolling wooded hills of Pontypool Ontario. This unique property provides an enjoyable challenge for all levels of players set against picturesque backgrounds. We feature both links style and parkland holes with many elevation changes, water and woodland coming into play.

The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent to maintain a quality playing experience for players and a positive and safe working environment for employees.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

Assist in daily operation of course maintenance
Work safely and efficiently
Training staff
Take part in accurate record keeping
Application of fertilizers and pesticides
Assist in scouting and IPM
Assume a leadership role in projects and daily operations
Work closely with staff to maintain course to a high standard
Be accountable for decisions and course condition in the absence of the superintendent

Qualifications

3 years working in golf maintenance
Degree or diploma from a recognized institute
Valid Ontario drivers license
Valid Ontario landscape exterminator license or applicator license
Strong leadership and reliability
Working knowledge of irrigation system operation and repair
Good organizational and communication skills
Motivated and able to take initiative
Able to work in a team or alone
Equipment operation
Some equipment maintenance
