THE TORONTO GOLF CLUB was established in 1876 and is the third oldest golf club in North America. The Toronto Golf Club designed by H.S. Colt is celebrating its 150 year Anniversary is seeking a motivated and dynamic Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join its Golf Course Operations leadership team.
In 2026 we will host the Canadian Women’s Amateur this will be the 10th Canadian Amateur Championship for The Toronto Golf Club, more than any other club.
Position Summary
Working alongside Senior Assistant Superintendent Steve Fierheller the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent assists in the overall management and execution of all golf course management operations. This role requires an outgoing, professional self-motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the management and execution of all golf course maintenance and operations.
- Provide leadership, hiring, training, and supervision of golf course operations staff.
- Contribute to budgeting, planning, and execution of capital improvement initiatives.
- Manage payroll
- Ensure safe, conscientious completion of all job tasks.
- Maintain the highest standards of course conditioning, safety, and environmental stewardship.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive golf course maintenance experience.
- Private club experience preferred.
- Strong agronomic knowledge with a hands-on leadership approach.
- IPM certification required.
- Post-secondary education in turfgrass management.
- Strong communication, organizational, and reporting skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation : $90,000 – $110,000, inclusive of RRSP and bonus.
- Vacation: 3 weeks annually.
