About Us:

Dominion Golf Course was built in 1929 as a 9 hole golf course and was later expanded to the 18 holes it is today in 1961. Dominion Golf & Country Club is a Par 70, covering 113 acres of property. At 5,625 yards, is popular for its elevated greens, forgiving bluegrass fairways and indoor driving range dome. The fully mature layout is both challenging and rewarding, appealing to golfers of all handicap levels.

Who we're seeking:

Dominion Golf & CC is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent in being a key member of our Turfgrass Management Team. Reporting directly to the Head Superintendent, you will be assisting in ensuring proper practice of operations, to maintain all levels of health and safety for our peers, as well as the quality of our equipment, turf, and overall product we put out to our customers. Some of the day to day responsibilities include but not limited to:

Arriving before the crew, coordinating jobs for the day, assisting in running morning meetings, answering questions from the crew.
Early morning shifts with potential for long days, split shifts, including weekends.
Day to day surveying of staff, course conditions, identifying problems, and reporting issues to the Head Superintendent.
Training of employees in the safe use and operation of golf course equipment.
Calibration and Application of Fertilizers.
Hands-on with the crew in all golf course operations.
Irrigation - Diagnosing, Monitoring, and Solving/Repairing issues as they arise.
Watering/Hand Watering as required.
Lead by example in safe and proper use of equipment, maintaining good work ethic, promoting a healthy work environment and enforcing required PPE.

Qualifications:

Valid G Drivers License
Graduate of a post secondary turf management program or equivalent experience
Mininum 3 years experience in golf course operations
Knowledge of Toro Irrigation equipment an asset
Chainsaw experience considered an asset
Possess or willing to obtain Ontario Landscape Exterminator License
Be capable of lifting 50+ lbs unassisted and willing to work in most weather conditions
