Equipment Manager
Whistle Bear Golf Club is seeking an Equipment Manager/ Golf Course Mechanic to oversee the maintenance, repair, and management of all golf course maintenance equipment.
This role is responsible for ensuring the golf course fleet is safe, reliable, and ready to support daily operations. The Fleet Manager works closely with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents to plan preventative maintenance, manage repairs, and maintain high shop and safety standards.
What You’ll Do
· Coordinate and schedule all equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
· Inspect equipment regularly, including checking fluid levels, tires, and overall condition.
· Diagnose and repair mechanical defects in golf course maintenance and construction equipment.
· Perform major and minor repairs on gasoline, diesel, and electric-powered equipment.
· Set up, adjust, and maintain mowing equipment to ensure consistent cutting quality.
· Overhaul and repair engines, brakes, transmissions, differentials, and other mechanical systems as required.
· Maintain accurate service records, equipment logs, and maintenance schedules.
· Manage parts inventory, purchasing, receiving, and inventory control.
· Oversee fuel storage, oil inventories, and fueling facilities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
· Maintain the maintenance shop in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, including inspections, documentation, and recommendations for safe work practices.
· Support seasonal setup and breakdown of equipment.
· Other duties as required to support golf course operations.
What We’re Looking For
· Strong understanding of golf course operations and equipment requirements.
· Proven experience as a mechanic or equipment manager (golf course, turf, agricultural, or automotive experience preferred).
· Strong knowledge of gasoline, diesel, and electric-powered equipment.
· Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
· Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
· Clear communicator who works well within a team environment.
· Professional presence that brings consistency and leadership to the maintenance operation.
· Commitment to safety standards and preventative maintenance practices.
· Flexibility to support seasonal demands, including occasional weekend work.
· Valid driver’s license.
Compensation and Benefits
· $75,000–$82,000 salary (DOE)
