About Us:

Established in 1924, the Ontario Golf Superintendents’ Association (OGSA) is committed to serving its members, advancing their profession, and enriching the quality of golf and its environment. The OGSA is comprised of golf course superintendents, assistant superintendents, technicians, and industry suppliers.

What we’re looking for!

The OGSA is looking for an energetic, strategic, communicator who loves to wear many hats. As part of a team of three, you are the main point of contact for membership inquiries and services. You’ are an integral part of planning and executing member programs and events throughout the year. You are also the managing editor for our quarterly magazine, ONCourse. 

With the OGSA's centennial on the horizon, we have an exciting year ahead of us. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Respond to member needs, 
  • perform administrative duties as required,
  • develop effective communication strategies to encourage member engagement, membership growth, expand the association’s presence in the industry,
  • develop, execute and track social media campaigns,
  • prepare and edit communication materials such as press releases, articles, e-newsletters, and other communication pieces as required,
  • produce ONCourse, the quarterly magazine, and the annual membership directory,
  • maintain the OGSA membership database (Member365) and website (Beaver Builder & WordPress),
  • work with the executive manager to plan and execute events including an annual conference, golf tournaments, and other events as required.

What you bring to the table:

  • A diploma or a degree in public relations, marketing, communications, or a related field,
  • excellent writing, editing, and media relations skills,
  • experience planning events,
  • a proven flare for social media for business,
  • experience managing and updating websites,
  • proficient with Microsoft office suite, Member365 & WordPress experience is considered an asset,
  • sound understanding of graphic design principles and/or experience working with graphic designers, knowledge of Canva or other graphic design software is considered an asset,
  • a background in the turfgrass industry is also considered an asset
  • a driver’s license and access to a car to perform occasional offsite administration duties.

This is a salary position based on a 35 hour work week. Office hours are Monday-Thursday, 8am-4pm and Friday, 8am-1pm. Additional hours may be required during events. Applicants must be available to work from the office.
